Michigan's Upper Peninsula
Aaron Peterson is a writer and photographer from Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He and his family live on an old Finnish homestead near Marquette, which is near Lake Superior, which is darn near perfect. The Upper Peninsula (U.P.) is a land carved by the forces of the Great Lakes and warmed by the spirit of its resilient and hardy people, affectionately known as "Yoopers." Aaron has made a name for himself as a photographer up here, but lately folks have been asking him to write some too. Not his favorite thing to do, considering it involves computers and indoor sitting. So he thought maybe a little public shaming in the form of a blog would inspire him to write more. We'll see. But come on in, there's rhubarb in the fridge and black, black coffee in the pot. Grab a shovel and help out on the old place, or just put your feet up and "Say Ya to da U.P., eh." aaron@aaronpeterson.net
